Microchipping will be available shortly

We will also travel to your home within the local area, if thats any easier but home visits will incur a surchage for microchipping.

Did you know?

That if your pet is NOT microchipped and gets lost wardens will charge you a daily rate for keeping them in their kennel which can cost a fortune ranging between £10 and £80 per day! If your pet is microchipped you avoid paying any of these fee's altogether!

How cool is that?!

How would you cope if you lost your best friend or they got stolen? We will be fully qualified in microchipping using the same company 'Pet Detect' as the RSPCA, DOGS TRUST & VETS. The Government is proposing a scheme for every dog, and eventually every cat, to be identified by either a tattoo or microchip.

Who can be microchipped?

Dogs, cats, ferrets and rabbits.

How old do my pets need to be before they can be microchipped?

Dogs large breed 6-8 weeks
Dogs medium breed 8-10 weeks
Cats, small dogs, ferrets and rabbits - 20-24 weeks (5-6 months)

What is a microchip?

A tiny glass, insert capsule the size of a grain of rice containing an identification number linking you to your pet.

How does it work?

A vet, recsue centre or dog warden will use a small hand held scanner to detect the microchip number. this number is registered with petlog, the national central database run by the kennel club. petlog will confirm your contact details and you will be reunited with your pet.

Where is the implant site?

Under the skin between the shoulder blades.

How long will it take to implant the microchip?

Just a few moments, infact by the time you fill out the petlog registration form your pet will be protected by the latest I.D. technology.

How long does registration last?

Your pet is registered for life!

Travel plans?

If you plan to travel abroad your pet MUST have a microchip in order to comply with the regulations.
